Midfur Recap

I've barely had a moment to relax since I got back from Midfur. I still haven't unpacked everything so there's art all over my studio. :) That means there's heaps of stock still to sell, so I'm thinking about putting some stuff up for a discounted price!

As usual, Midfur was a very lucrative endeavor for me - I am getting a new kitchen this month and the profits will help fund that nicely. I still have some commissions to do but they shouldn't take too long. I just have to get a pet painting out of the way first as that is due by Xmas. I should start thinking about holiday leave from work too...

Anyway, I made some new friends this year and was really happy to see some new (as well as familiar) faces. I have some cool contacts now and this may lead to some great business opportunities.

A few photos can be found here:

To do list:

Fully Body B&W - DSmoke

Midur Day 1-3

I'm bored...sales are a bit slow today so I thought I would write up how my convention experience has been so far. Thursday was awesome! Smashed last years sales by double and Friday seemed a bit slow, but the till said otherwise. I've definitely covered my costs and hopefully the rest can go towards a new kitchen. :)

I've sold a lot a Rare Calendars and quite a few of my new limited edition prints. I've made a nice spreadsheet to keep track of the LTD prints so I know which numbers I've prepared and sold. Framed prints are also selling well. I think people are surprised by how cheap they are because they keep asking if the price includes the frame! Lol.

Also did some commissions this year - often I don't really like doing them at the con, but I'm just doing digital sketches so it's easy. Thanks to internet access (even flakey internet), I have references easily available. I will say one con-goer was quite affronted when I drew his character naked! A bit of a mis-communication there...

Anyway, back to it!
